Kitt
was born Feb. 22, 1986. His sire is Ch.
Skansen's Handsome Stranger - his dam Ch. Skansen's
Festival V. Diamond.
This
turned out to be one of those exceptional litters everyone
hopes for. So we repeated it one more time before Festival
was retired. The combination has produced 6 Champions so
far and several more pointed, which we know should finished
shortly.
Kitt
himself is a 28 inch tall, very powerful, male. He is the
most like Handsome
in this litter, with the same happy temperament, very outgoing
and very dominant with the other males. Kitt has the American
coat, he is OFA good and we expect he will be a top-producer
like his sire.
When
Kitt was 6 mo. old he injured one of his hind legs and walked
around on 3 legs for awhile. As I do not believe in surgery
on young growing animals, I let him run free - expecting
his injury to heal fast as they always do. By the time he
was 10 mo. old we started showing Kitt and he finished almost
undefeated just over a year. At two we had his OFA X-rayed
and asked the vet. if there were any signs of his injury
and sure enough it turned out he had cracked his pelvic
bone, which had healed perfectly without any aid from us.
At
this time Kitt, went down to Mexico to gain his additional
titles of Mexican and International Champion, which he did
undefeated, also placing in the Group several times.
Kitt's
litter sister is Ch.
Skansen's Knockout, in many people's opinion the best
female I ever bred. Knockout
set her own record when she won winner's bitch three days
in a row at our 1987 National, gaining 15 points in 3 days.
Another brother of Kitt's is Ch.
Skansen's Mordecai Siegal. Mordecai
was sold as a pup and just came back to live with us, as
his owner had to go to school and did not have time to take
care of him. We were so happy to have him back here, he
is a magnificent male with superb movement and has placed
in Group several times, like his sister and brother.
